Preserving Born-Digital Material

At the APAC meeting hosted by Bristol Theatre Collections on 7 November 2012, Stephen Gray gave a talk on digital preservation, which included issues for archives to consider and advice on best practice. Gray provided his PowerPoint presentation for APAC members to download.

Gray is Technical Project Co-ordinator at the University of Bristol and a research fellow with the university’s Faculty of Arts. Gray is also involved with JISC Digital Media, an advisory service that supports the academic community on the digital creation, management, and use of still images, moving images, and sound resources. Gray’s work on the JISC Digital Media project focuses on digital research and cultural heritage collections.

Gray is also technical lead for digitising the National Review of Live Arts video archive and multimedia archiving consultant for the JISC Images for Education project. He recently co-authored a new digital best practice guide for the Heritage Lottery Fund.
